Mason County Fire District #2 was originally known as the Belfair Volunteer Fire Department upon its inception in 1946.  The citizens of Belfair recognized the need to provide fire and emergency protection for their neighbors.  Mason County Fire District #2 is proud to carry on the tradition and mission “neighbors helping neighbors”.

Mason County Fire District #2 serves the community with 24 hour emergency responders.  These outstanding members of this organization are comprised of volunteer and professional firefighters, emergency medical technicians (EMT), paramedics, and Community Response Teams (CRT).  Essentially, the men and women of MCFD #2 are your “neighbors”.  We are here to serve this community in the protection of life and property, and to insure the well being and safety of its citizens.  The mission of Mason County Fire District #2 has not changed since 1946.
